A JSP is a jacketed bullet with a lead tip, meant to expand more slowly than a hollow point. Power factor is 196, 31 points over the 165 USPSA major floor. From a 25-yard zero the bullet is 1.0 inch low at 50 yards and 8.3 inches low at 100, where it holds 1,062 fps and 395 ft-lbs.
Its muzzle numbers sit slightly under the other standard-speed 158s. Ammo Inc Signature 158-grain JHP is 10 fps faster with 9 ft-lbs more. Sellier & Bellot's 158-grain soft point publishes 1,263 fps, 23 fps and 21 ft-lbs ahead. PMC Bronze 158-grain JSP is in another bracket: 231 fps faster, 220 ft-lbs more, and about 35 percent more recoil energy in the same revolver.
