About This Suppressor
The SilencerCo Omega 9K is a short multi-calibre suppressor for 9mm pistols and 300 Blackout rifles. It has an MSRP of $749. At 4.54 inches it is the shortest multi-calibre can on this list in any configuration, built from Cobalt 6 and 17-4 stainless steel.
It mounts on SilencerCo's Alpha and ASR quick-detach systems, on pistons, or on a 3-lug adapter, so one can moves from a threaded rifle barrel to a pistol or a subgun. SilencerCo rates it for both subsonic and supersonic 300 Blackout and for full-auto fire with pistol calibres. Mounts beyond the one it ships with are separate purchases.
If you're cross-shopping, the SilencerCo Omega 36M has an MSRP of $1,169 and reaches .338 Lapua Magnum where the 9K stops at 300 Blackout. The Dead Air Wolfman has an MSRP of $899, is fully welded stainless at 1.618 inches across, and covers 5.56 and 7.62x39 as well as 9mm. Both of those are longer and heavier than the 9K in every build they offer.
Strengths & Limitations
Pros
- Rated for supersonic as well as subsonic 300 Blackout, so hot rifle loads stay inside it.
- A direct thread mount is included, so a threaded rifle barrel is covered on day one.
Cons
- Cobalt 6 and stainless construction puts it at 7.3 ounces, above the lightest multi-calibre cans on this list.
- The rating stops at 300 Blackout, so 5.56 and .308 hosts are out.
