About This Suppressor

The Dead Air Ghost 45M is a modular multi-calibre suppressor for .45 ACP pistols and subsonic rifles. It has an MSRP of $949. It runs 8.75 inches and 12 ounces long or 6.2 inches and 9.6 ounces short, in stainless steel, titanium and aluminium.

It mounts on a piston booster. The booster assembly comes with it but the piston does not, so a piston matched to the host's thread is a required extra before it will go on a pistol. The body is Cerakote with nitride attachments, and it measures 1.375 inches across in either build.

If you're cross-shopping, the SilencerCo Hybrid 46M has an MSRP of $1,169, reaches .45-70 Government and runs 14.9 ounces at 7.72 inches. The Dead Air Wolfman has an MSRP of $899, is fully welded stainless at 1.618 inches across, and comes with a 1/2-28 direct thread mount. Of the three, the Ghost 45M is the one that cannot be mounted on anything as it arrives.

Strengths & Limitations

Pros

  • Two lengths from one can, so a short pistol build and a long one come from one purchase.
  • Rated for .45 ACP, .357 Magnum, 9mm, .30 Carbine and subsonic 300 Blackout, so revolvers and carbines are inside it.
  • Full-auto rated with no barrel-length restriction.

Cons

  • The piston is not included, so the can on its own will not go on a host.
  • Aluminium in the build where the other big-bore cans on this list use stainless or titanium only.
