Product Overview
Hornady V-Match 80-grain ELD-VT is a polymer-tipped 6mm ARC load made for target shooting and varmint hunting. The ELD-VT is a thin-jacketed varmint bullet with a heat-resistant tip. It leaves the muzzle at 3,020 fps with 1,620 ft-lbs and a G1 BC of .410.
Zeroed at 200 yards, it drops 6.8 inches at 300 and 19.8 inches at 400. Nothing else in the caliber drops less at that distance from that zero. From a 100-yard zero it drops 25.8 inches at 400.
If you're cross-shopping, HSM's V-MAX 75-grain is five grains lighter at much the same muzzle speed, and on a G1 BC of .330 it drops 21.5 inches at 400 from a 200-yard zero. It kicks about 12 percent less in the same rifle.
