Product Overview
Wolf's Military Classic 100-grain is a steel-cased practice load, and its light bullet keeps recoil down. The bullet is a full metal jacket with a boat tail. It leaves the muzzle at 2,690 fps with 1,607 ft-lbs of energy. The steel case is magnetic and can't be reloaded, and some ranges don't allow steel-cased ammunition, so check before you bring it.
Compared with Prvi Partizan's 110-grain FMJ-BT, the Wolf carries a bullet 10 grains lighter and leaves the muzzle 65 fps slower. In return it kicks about 20 percent less in the same rifle. Compared with Hornady's Frontier 123-grain FMJ, the Wolf starts 110 fps faster with a bullet 23 grains lighter, and it kicks about 31 percent less. Both the Prvi Partizan and the Frontier use brass cases you can reload.
Buy the Wolf if light recoil matters most, for a newer shooter or a long day of practice, and your range accepts steel cases. Pick the Prvi Partizan 110 if you want a brass case and a little more speed: it leaves the muzzle at 2,755 fps. Pick the Hornady Frontier 123 if your rifle's main load uses a 123-grain bullet and you want practice ammunition of the same weight. AAC's 123-grain FMJ is another brass-cased 123; it leaves the muzzle at 2,525 fps, 165 fps behind the Wolf.
