Armscor's 62-grain M855 is range and training ammunition for shooters who want a heavier bullet than 55-grain ball. It fires a 62-grain full metal jacket bullet at 3,020 fps, with 1,255 ft-lbs of energy at the muzzle. It suits shooters who want to train with the same bullet weight as their other 62-grain ammunition. Fire it only in rifles chambered for 5.56 NATO.
Compared with Hornady Black 62-grain, the Armscor starts 40 fps slower, 3,020 fps against 3,060, and kicks about 2 percent less in the same rifle, a gap too small to feel from one shot to the next.
