Winchester's Expedition Big Game 300-grain AccuBond CT is the .338 Lapua load for a hunter who wants bullet weight over speed: its 300-grain bullet is the heaviest of the loads compared below. The AccuBond CT is a polymer-tipped bullet whose lead core is bonded to its jacket. It leaves the muzzle at 2,650 fps with 4,679 ft-lbs of energy.
Compared with Hornady's Precision Hunter 270-grain ELD-X, the Winchester leaves the muzzle 150 fps slower with a bullet 30 grains heavier, and it kicks about 16 percent harder in the same rifle.
