HSM's Trophy Gold 115-grain is a hunting load for shooters who want Berger's VLD Hunting bullet in a loaded round. The VLD Hunting is a hunting bullet with a long, sharply pointed nose. HSM loads it to 3,000 fps at the muzzle, with 2,298 ft-lbs of energy.
Compared with Nosler's 115-grain Ballistic Tip Spitzer, the Trophy Gold is a twin at the muzzle. Both leave at 3,000 fps with the same energy, and they kick the same in the same rifle, so the choice comes down to Berger's bullet or Nosler's polymer tip.
