How to read it: filled circles are the near and far zero, where the bullet's path crosses the line of sight;the triangle is the peak (max ordinate). The shaded band is the 8" vital zone, ±4" either side of the line of sight. The dashed line marks the edge of the hold-dead-on window. The chart is zoomed to where the zero matters; the tables below run to 500 yards.

Product Overview
Sierra Prairie Enemy 69-grain BlitzKing is a polymer-tipped varmint .224 Valkyrie load, and Sierra no longer makes it. The BlitzKing is Sierra's own polymer-tipped varmint bullet over a lead core. It leaves the muzzle at 3,125 fps with 1,497 ft-lbs and a G1 BC of .370.
Zeroed at 200 yards, it drops 6.5 inches at 300 and 19.1 inches at 400. From a 100-yard zero it drops 24.6 inches at 400.
If you're cross-shopping, Hornady's Varmint Express 60-grain V-Max starts 175 fps faster on a G1 BC of .265 and drops 20.0 inches at 400 from a 200-yard zero. It also kicks about 19 percent less in the same rifle.
- Drops less at 400 yards than any .224 Valkyrie load, from either zero
- Still moving at 2,160 fps at 400 yards, faster there than any other load in the caliber
- The highest G1 BC of the caliber's varmint loads
- A lead core, so it is out where lead-free ammunition is required
- Sierra named no game class for it, so the varmint line it came from is the only guide to what it suits
- Only Hornady's Varmint Express 60-grain V-Max is left as a .224 Valkyrie varmint load
