The P226 Elite is the black Nitron 9mm P226: a full-size, alloy-frame DA/SA service pistol with a decocker and no manual safety. It answers a narrow question. You want a hammer-fired duty-size gun with a long double-action first shot, and you are choosing between it, a Beretta 92FS and a CZ 75 B. It holds 15 rounds and weighs 32.4 oz.
What sets this version apart from older P226s is that since 2024 the slide comes cut for an optic. The Beretta 92FS is 0.8 inches longer overall and Beretta does not list it as optic-ready. The CZ 75 B holds one more round, but its steel frame adds 2.8 oz and it has a manual safety instead of a decocker. The SIG Sauer P226 Legion adds a Grayguns P-SAIT trigger, G10 grips and a third magazine.
Buy the P226 Elite if you want a DA/SA duty-size pistol that takes a red dot without sending the slide out for milling. Skip it if you do not plan to mount an optic; the Beretta 92FS does the same job with iron sights.
