The G19 V is the compact 9mm in the V-series Glock introduced in December 2025, when it stopped shipping most Gen5 pistols. It is the G19 most buyers know: a 4.02-inch Marksman barrel, a 15-round flush magazine and 23.63 oz with an empty magazine. Glock lists no optic system for this model. It is for the carrier or first-time buyer who wants a current-production G19 with iron sights and is choosing between it, a leftover Gen5, the Gen6 and the Smith & Wesson M&P.

The V keeps the Gen5 outline: no finger grooves, interchangeable backstraps, front serrations, an ambidextrous slide stop and a reversible magazine catch, with an nDLC slide finish. The internal change is the reason it exists. Its internal parts are designed to stop illegal auto-conversion devices from working. The Glock G19 Gen5 weighs the same and ships with three magazines, but it is out of production. The Glock G19 Gen6 is the same size and ships with a backstrap set, and adds Glock's optic-ready system, a flat-faced trigger and a palm-swell frame, and weighs a little less. The Smith & Wesson M&P 9 M2.0 Compact is thinner at 1.16 inches but heavier.

Buy the G19 V if you carry or keep a pistol on irons and want the G19 that holsters, magazines and training classes are built around. Skip it if you want a red dot now or later; the G19 Gen6 gives you the same size with Glock's optic-ready system.
