About This Firearm
Sig built the P320 XTEN specifically for 10mm, rather than adapting an existing 9mm or .45 frame. The result is a 5" barrel in an 8.5" package weighing 33 oz. That barrel length splits the difference between the Glock G20's 4.61" and the G40's 6.02", giving a meaningful velocity bump over the shorter guns without the long-slide bulk. The 15+1 capacity matches the Glock G20.
The fire control unit is the same serialized chassis as other P320 variants, which means armorers and Sig-familiar shooters already know the system. The XRAY3 day/night sights are a step above the white-dot factory sights on most competitors. The flat trigger face and 4.3 lb pull weight are lighter than either the Glock G20 (5.9 lbs) or the Springfield XD-M Elite's grip-safety-equipped setup. No manual safety on this model.
Where the XTEN earns its spot: it is the heaviest polymer 10mm at 33 oz, and that weight shows up as noticeably less muzzle flip than the 28.4 oz G20. Reviewers consistently note the difference is obvious during rapid fire strings. For someone who wants a modern striker-fired 10mm with the best stock sights and a light trigger, the XTEN does those two things better than anything else in the polymer 10mm field.
Best For
Strengths & Limitations
- The XRAY3 day/night sights are the best factory sights on any polymer 10mm. Tritium front and rear with a high-visibility ring, usable in any lighting condition without upgrades.
- At 33 oz, it absorbs full-power 10mm recoil better than any other polymer option. The Glock G20 at 28.4 oz and S&W M&P at 29.3 oz both transmit more snap to the shooter.
- The 5" barrel adds velocity over 4.5-4.6" competitors without pushing overall length past 8.5".
- No manual safety option. For shooters who specifically want an external safety on a woods gun, the S&W M&P M2.0 10mm offers a thumb safety.
- The P320 XTEN magazine is proprietary and does not interchange with standard P320 9mm or .45 magazines. Spare mag availability has been inconsistent since launch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Sig P320 XTEN use standard P320 magazines?
No. The XTEN uses proprietary 15-round magazines designed specifically for 10mm. Standard P320 magazines in 9mm, .40, or .45 do not fit. Sig sells spare XTEN magazines directly, and availability has improved since the initial launch. There are no aftermarket magazine options as of early 2026.
Can the P320 XTEN fire control unit swap into other P320 grip modules?
The XTEN FCU is mechanically the same as other P320 FCUs, but the XTEN slide and barrel are 10mm-specific and will not function in standard P320 slides. The grip module is also wider to accommodate the 10mm magazine. Swapping the FCU into a 9mm or .45 P320 configuration requires the matching slide, barrel, and grip module for that caliber.
