The full metal jacket is a conventional practice bullet for paper and steel at pistol distances. From a 25-yard zero it lands 0.3 inches low at 50 yards and 3.9 inches low at 100, so a center hold works across a normal pistol bay and only a long plate asks for a little holdover. Buy Range Dynamics for high-volume practice when you want the quicker of the two 40-grain ball loads. If your pistol normally carries FN Herstal SS197SR 40-grain V-Max, this is a close stand-in at the muzzle, since the V-Max is only 38 fps faster. If a suppressor is part of the plan, Fiocchi Subsonic 62-grain FMJ is the load to look at instead: it runs 650 fps slower, at 1,050 fps, and stays under the speed of sound.
