Product Overview
Ammo Inc's Streak .380 Auto in red is not standard range ammo. It uses a non-incendiary compound on the bullet base that glows red in flight, visible only from behind the shooter. The 100-grain TMC bullet moves at 890 fps with 176 ft-lbs of energy. That is slower than typical 95-grain .380 loads, but the heavier bullet carries more momentum. The brass case and total metal coating mean clean feeding and reduced lead exposure compared to exposed-lead projectiles.
The visible red streak is the whole point of this product. Unlike traditional tracers that use burning pyrotechnic compounds, the Streak coating is cold. It does not ignite anything downrange, so most indoor and outdoor ranges allow it where real tracers are banned. The glow is bright enough to track in dimly lit indoor ranges and at dusk. In full daylight, it is harder to see. Compared to the Ammo Inc Signature load (same 100gr TMC at 890 fps), you are paying a premium strictly for that visual feedback on your shots.
This load is built for shooters who want instant visual confirmation of where their rounds go. It is useful for diagnosing flinch, tracking shots during rapid fire, and low-light training scenarios. Instructors use it to watch student shot placement in real time. It also works for recreational shooting when you just want to see something cool. Pair it with the green Streak variant for color-coded drills or competition between shooting partners.
