CCI's Blazer 10mm Auto load pushes a 200-grain TMJ bullet at 1,050 fps for 490 ft-lbs at the muzzle, a power factor of 210 that clears the 165 major floor by 45. The total metal jacket encloses the base of the bullet, so no lead is exposed, the point for an indoor range with lead rules. The aluminum case is not reloadable. From a 25-yard zero the bullet sits 1.6 inches low at 50 yards and 11.7 inches low at 100, where it still carries 934 fps and 388 ft-lbs.
The 200-grain loads mark the downloaded end of the 10mm ball spread. PMC Bronze 200-grain matches the Blazer's 1,050 fps, 490 ft-lbs and recoil energy exactly; the Blazer holds 20 fps more at 100 yards and drops 0.3 inch less. Ammo Inc 180-grain TMJ leaves 140 fps faster with 76 ft-lbs more, and DoubleTap Target 180-grain 135 fps faster with 71 ft-lbs more, yet both land within 1 percent of the Blazer's recoil energy. Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics 180-grain FMJTC is the full-power end at 1,250 fps and 624 ft-lbs, 200 fps and 134 ft-lbs ahead, with about 9 percent more recoil energy and 3.1 inches less drop at 100 yards. Buy this for indoor range sessions where an enclosed bullet base matters and you have no plan to reload. It also works as a practice stand-in for Speer Gold Dot 200-grain JHP, which runs 50 fps faster with about 8 percent more recoil energy. Shooters who want full-power practice recoil should take Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics 180-grain instead. Handloaders should pick PMC Bronze 200-grain, which delivers the same 1,050 fps from a brass case.
