PMC Bronze loads a 200-grain truncated-cone FMJ in a brass case at 1,050 fps and 490 ft-lbs, a power factor of 210 that clears the 165 major floor by 45. The truncated cone gives the bullet a flat nose; that is the whole difference from a round-nose ball load. From a 25-yard zero it prints 1.6 inches low at 50 yards and 12.0 inches low at 100, still carrying 914 fps and 371 ft-lbs there. It never goes supersonic. The brass case is reloadable.

This 10mm Auto load and CCI Blazer 200-grain are twins at the muzzle: same 1,050 fps, same 490 ft-lbs, same recoil energy in the same pistol. The Blazer holds 20 fps more at 100 yards and drops 0.3 inch less. Federal American Eagle 180-grain is the only comparison slower than the PMC, by 20 fps, and gives up 66 ft-lbs at the muzzle. DoubleTap Target 180-grain runs 135 fps faster with 71 ft-lbs more, and Ammo Inc 180-grain TMJ 140 fps faster with 76 ft-lbs more; both stay within 1 percent of the PMC's recoil energy. Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics 180-grain is the full-power end at 1,250 fps, 200 fps and 134 ft-lbs ahead, with about 9 percent more recoil energy and 3.4 inches less drop at 100 yards.

Buy this if you want a heavy 10mm ball load at moderate speed and plan to keep the brass. It also makes a fair practice match for Speer Gold Dot 200-grain JHP, which is 50 fps faster with about 8 percent more recoil energy. If low recoil is the goal, Federal American Eagle 180-grain produces about 22 percent less recoil energy than the PMC in the same pistol. If you want to feel full-power 10mm, buy Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics 180-grain instead.
