Arizona Unit 23 covers 758,159 acres and lies 26 miles south-east of Payson and 43 miles north of Globe. 98% of it is public land, mostly national forest (98%). In 2025, 576 people hunted elk here and took 251 — 44% of them killed something. The 2026 draw put up 100 tags here for 20 first-choice applicants.
