Arizona Unit 22 covers 1,011,948 acres and lies 17 miles south-west of Payson and 33 miles north-east of Fountain Hills. 96% of it is public land, mostly national forest (96%). In 2025, 213 people hunted elk here and took 157 — 74% of them killed something. The 2026 draw put up 100 tags here for 20 first-choice applicants.
