About This Suppressor

The SilencerCo Switchback 22 is a titanium and stainless steel rimfire suppressor for .22 rifles and pistols. It has an MSRP of $579. The tubes unscrew into four build options, long, medium, short and a rifle-optimised layout, spanning 5.75 inches down to 2.80 inches and 6.9 ounces down to 3.7 ounces.

It threads directly onto the muzzle in every configuration and takes SilencerCo's Delta Adapters for a quick-detach mount, which is a separate buy. Nothing else has to be ordered to rebuild it, because the tools for the job come with it. SilencerCo rates every configuration for full-auto fire, so shortening the can does not narrow what you can feed it.

If you're cross-shopping, the SilencerCo Sparrow 22 is the same 1.07 inches across and has an MSRP of $349, with one fixed body and an all-stainless build. The Rugged Oculus22 has an MSRP of $542 and gives two lengths instead of four, 5.25 and 3.25 inches, and it includes its 1/2x28 direct thread mount. Both of those ask less money for fewer build options.

Strengths & Limitations

Pros

  • Four build options from one can, so a short pistol setup and a long rifle setup do not need two cans.
  • Rated for full auto in every configuration, so changing length does not change what you can feed it.
  • The stainless baffles sit inside titanium tubes, which keeps steel out of the outer body.

Cons

  • Its MSRP is above every other rimfire can here except the Banish RF 22 Ti.
  • The Delta Adapter is sold separately, so quick-detach costs more than the ticket price.

Where to Buy
