Hornady Varmint Express 87-grain V-MAX is a polymer-tipped 6mm Creedmoor load made for varmint shooting. The V-MAX is a lead-core bullet with a boat tail and a polymer tip pressed into its nose. It leaves the muzzle at 3,210 fps with 1,990 ft-lbs and a G1 BC of .400.
Zeroed at 200 yards it drops 5.9 inches at 300 and 17.4 inches at 400. From a 100-yard zero the drop at 400 is 22.3 inches.
If you're cross-shopping, Hornady's V-Match 80-grain ELD-VT starts 90 fps faster on a G1 BC of .410, and from a 200-yard zero it drops 16.2 inches at 400. Hornady's Superformance 90-grain CX is a copper hunting load in the caliber, 115 fps faster at the muzzle.
