Barnes VOR-TX 115-grain TAC-TX is a solid copper 6.5 Grendel hunting load made for medium game. The TAC-TX is an all-copper bullet with a polymer tip and a boat tail, with no lead in it. It leaves the muzzle at 2,590 fps with 1,713 ft-lbs and has a G1 BC of .387.
Zeroed at 200 yards, it drops 9.9 inches at 300 and 28.9 inches at 400, with 797 ft-lbs left. Its estimated recoil is the lightest of the brass-cased 6.5 Grendel loads compared.
If you're cross-shopping, Hornady's Custom 123-grain SST starts at nearly the same speed on a far higher G1 BC of .510 and from a 200-yard zero drops 26.2 inches at 400 with 1,028 ft-lbs. AAC's Sabre Blade 123-grain Black Tip drops 27.6 inches at 400 from that zero.
