Remington lists its Premier 150-grain Swift Scirocco Bonded for big game, and it shoots the flattest of the 150-grain loads it is compared with. The Swift Scirocco Bonded is a polymer-tipped boat-tail bullet with its lead core bonded to the jacket. It carries a G1 BC of .435, leaves the muzzle at 2,910 fps and still has 1,488 ft-lbs of energy at 400 yards.

Compared with Remington's Core-Lokt 150-grain PSP, the Scirocco leaves the muzzle at the same speed and kicks the same in the same rifle, but it holds its path far better. At 400 yards, a steady 10 mph wind blowing across the range pushes the Scirocco about 13 inches sideways and the Core-Lokt PSP about 19. Zeroed at 200 yards, the Scirocco drops about 21 inches at 400 and the Core-Lokt PSP about 24. Compared with Remington's 150-grain Core-Lokt Tipped, rated at a G1 BC of .415, the two fly almost alike: at 400 yards the same wind pushes the Core-Lokt Tipped about 13 inches too.

Buy the Scirocco if your big-game shots can stretch to 400 or 500 yards and you want a bonded bullet. Pick the Core-Lokt Tipped 150 if you want the same flight path with a polymer-tipped Core-Lokt bullet instead of a bonded one. Pick Remington's Core-Lokt 150 PSP, Federal's Power-Shok 150 JSP or Hornady's American Whitetail 150 if your shots stay inside 200 yards; there the same wind moves them only about an inch more than the Scirocco.
