Product Overview

Remington 150-grain Core-Lokt Tipped is a polymer-tipped .30-06 Springfield hunting load made for big game. Remington puts a polymer tip where the plain soft point has bare lead. It leaves the muzzle at 2,930 fps with 2,859 ft-lbs and has a G1 BC of .415.

Zeroed at 200 yards, it drops 21.1 inches at 400 yards, arriving with 1,462 ft-lbs.

If you're cross-shopping, Remington's Premier 150-grain Swift Scirocco has a bonded core on a G1 BC of .435 and drops the same 21.1 inches at 400 yards from a 200-yard zero. Hornady's American Whitetail 150-grain InterLock starts 20 fps slower on a G1 BC of .338 and off that zero it drops 23.5 inches at 400.

Strengths
  • The fastest start and the most muzzle energy of the 150-grain loads compared
  • The least drop at 400 yards of the loads compared, level with Remington's Premier 150-grain Swift Scirocco
  • Still moving 2,095 fps at 400 yards
Limitations
  • A lower G1 BC than Remington's Premier 150-grain Swift Scirocco at .435
  • Carries 1,745 ft-lbs at 300 yards, 16 less than Remington's Premier 150-grain Swift Scirocco
  • A lead core under the polymer tip, so it is out where lead-free ammunition is required
