Fiocchi markets its Field Dynamics 117-grain PSP for big game. The bullet is a pointed soft point, a jacketed bullet with exposed lead at a pointed tip, rated at a G1 BC of .391. It leaves the muzzle at 2,975 fps.
Compared with Hornady's American Whitetail 117-grain, the Fiocchi is close to a twin. Both carry a G1 BC of .391, and the Hornady starts only 15 fps faster. At 500 yards, a steady 10 mph wind blowing straight across the range pushes the Fiocchi and the Hornady about 23 inches sideways each. Compared with Winchester's Deer Season XP 117-grain, the Fiocchi falls well behind past 200 yards. The Winchester starts 125 fps faster, and the same wind pushes it about 18 inches at 500.
