Bear Creek Arsenal Launches Bear Bolt Pro Bolt-Action AR-10 Line, Starting in .308 Winchester

Bear Creek Arsenal launched the Bear Bolt Pro Series on October 27, a line of bolt-action AR-10 upper assemblies and complete rifles, the company said in a release. The first two items are on bearcreekarsenal.com: a BC-10 .308 Bear Bolt Pro 2-Lug Rifle at $674.99 and a matching complete upper assembly at $399.99. Both show in stock.

The series starts in .308 Winchester. Bear Creek says more calibers in both AR-10 and AR-15 configurations are arriving soon, and that every Bear Bolt Pro complete upper fits a mil-spec lower.

The action is the point of the line. Bear Creek’s series page describes a one-piece bolt in place of a multi-piece design, which the company says cycles faster and smoother, and a 70-degree bolt lift instead of the 90-degree throw common on bolt-action rifles. The bolt comes out of the upper receiver without tools. An out-of-battery safety covers the firing pin whenever the bolt is not fully closed and locked, so the rifle cannot fire until the bolt is in battery.

The rifle has an 18-inch black nitride SOCOM-profile barrel with a 1:10 twist, a billet upper receiver, a forged lower and a 15-inch M-LOK split rail, a handguard with M-LOK accessory slots. Bear Creek lists it at 8.2 pounds. The upper assembly has the same barrel, twist and rail and is listed at 6.2 pounds. Neither page gives an overall length or a magazine capacity.

Bear Creek already sells a Bolt Action Style line of AR-pattern rifles, pistols and uppers in AR-15 and AR-10 calibers. Its existing BC-10 .308 Bolt Action Style rifle, with a 20-inch stainless barrel, carries a $779.99 regular price and a $538.95 special price on the maker’s Bolt Action Style page.

Both Bear Bolt Pro items are sold only through bearcreekarsenal.com. Bear Creek has no storefront and builds its guns in Sanford, North Carolina. The company gave no date for the additional calibers.
