About This Firearm
The CZ P-07 is the polymer-frame compact variant of the CZ 75 family, built around the same slide-inside-frame geometry as the all-steel CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical but trimmed down for daily carry. In .40 S&W it runs 12+1 rounds through a 3.8" barrel at 27.2 oz empty, with the Omega trigger system and interchangeable decocker/manual-safety blocks.
CZ-USA quietly dropped the P-07 in .40 S&W as part of the broader industry pull-back from the cartridge — the P-07 remains in production in 9mm, but new .40 stock is increasingly rare. The Omega trigger gives a 4 lb single-action pull that is genuinely closer to the SP-01 than any other polymer-frame .40 in this size class, and the interchangeable safety setup means the same gun can carry cocked-and-locked (manual safety block) or DA-first (decocker block) depending on the owner's preference. Used examples are common, parts and magazines are still in stock at CZ-USA, and the platform shares enough with the 9mm P-07 that holsters and accessories cross over.

Strengths & Limitations
- 4 lb Omega single-action break is the lightest factory trigger in any polymer-frame compact .40 still findable on the market
- Interchangeable safety/decocker blocks let the same gun support cocked-and-locked or DA-first carry without sending it back to the factory
- Discontinued in .40 S&W by CZ-USA; new stock is sparse and shrinking
- No factory optic cut; the Omega trigger doesn't carry over directly to the optic-ready P-07 OR variants (which are 9mm only)
- Aftermarket holster and sight selection is narrower than for Glock G23 or M&P 40 Compact platforms

Frequently Asked Questions
Are CZ P-07 .40 magazines still in stock at CZ-USA?
Yes — factory 12-round .40 P-07 magazines remain available through CZ-USA parts as of this writing, though inventory is finite given the model's discontinuation. Mec-Gar (which manufactures most CZ factory magazines) still produces P-07 .40 mags under contract. Buyers should grab spare factory magazines while in stock rather than waiting.
Can I install the manual-safety block from a 9mm P-07 in the .40 version?
Yes — the safety blocks are interchangeable across calibers within the P-07 platform. CZ ships both the decocker and the manual-safety block with new guns, and aftermarket replacements work across 9mm and .40 frames. The block swap takes about 10 minutes with a 1/8" punch and does not require armorer training.
Will P-07 magazines work in the all-steel CZ 75 SP-01?
No. The P-07 uses a polymer-frame magazine well geometry that's different from the SP-01's steel magazine well. P-07 mags will not seat properly in an SP-01 and vice versa. Owners running both platforms need to maintain separate magazine stocks.
