Product Overview
Underwood 68-grain Xtreme Defender is a solid copper .380 Auto load made for self-defense. Underwood cuts deep flutes into the nose of a copper solid, with no hollow cavity at all. At 1,300 fps it makes 255 ft-lbs.
Zeroed at 25 yards, it is 1.1 inches low at 50. Its estimated recoil of 1.7 ft-lbs in a compact pistol is level with Federal Train + Protect 85-grain VHP despite the extra 300 fps.
If you're cross-shopping, Black Hills HoneyBadger 60-grain is the same kind of fluted copper solid, 150 fps slower with 79 ft-lbs less at the muzzle. Federal Train + Protect 85-grain VHP is a conventional hollow point at 1,000 fps.
