New Mexico Elk — GMU 2
New Mexico GMU 2 covers 1,494,971 acres and lies 15 miles east of Bloomfield and 27 miles east of Farmington. 82% of it is public land, mostly BLM (65%) and national forest (10%). In 2025, 891 people hunted elk here and took 424 — 49% of them killed something. The 2026 draw put up 13 tags here for 21 first-choice applicants.
