About This Firearm
The Noveske N4 Shorty 10.5" SBR is a billet-receiver .300 Blackout short-barreled rifle built for suppressed hunting and truck duty. It has an MSRP of $3,000. Its 10.5 inch 416R stainless barrel has a hand polished chamber and a pistol-length gas system, and at 27.75 inches collapsed and 6.5 lbs dry it is a two-handed rifle that still fits behind a seat.
Magpul MBUS Pro steel sights are fitted front and rear, and the Picatinny top rail runs the length of the handguard for an optic. The Radian Talon safety selector is ambidextrous, with a 45 or 90 degree throw. The Pig Pen muzzle device comes off the 5/8x24 threads when a suppressor goes on, and one Gen 3 PMAG is in the box.
If you're cross-shopping, the Noveske N4 Diplomat 7.94" SBR has an MSRP of $2,950 and shares the trigger, sights and furniture, but its shorter barrel brings it down to 21.25 inches and 5.3 lbs. The Sig Sauer MCX Spear LT has an MSRP of $2,179, a 9 inch barrel and a 1:5 twist, and lists the same 27.75 inches overall. Both land at the same length, so the Noveske's longer barrel costs nothing in package size.

Strengths & Limitations
- The bolt is phosphated Carpenter 158 steel and magnetic particle inspected before assembly.
- The handguard takes M-LOK at 45 degree intervals, so a pressure switch can sit where the thumb lands.
- Noveske's single stage trigger breaks at 5 lbs with a DLC coated shoe and a nickel Teflon hammer.
- The Pig Pen is a suppressor mount more than a flash hider, so the rifle is half-equipped until a can turns up.
- Add a suppressor, a red dot and a loaded magazine and the dry weight stops being a light-rifle number.
- One magazine comes with it, so a spare is an immediate purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the 5.56 version cost the same?
Noveske prices the 10.5 inch 5.56 stainless build the same as this .300 Blackout one, and the cold hammer forged 5.56 barrel sits above both. The .300 Blackout build is the one with the hand polished chamber and the 5/8x24 muzzle.
Does it take standard AR-15 magazines?
Yes. It feeds from AR-15 pattern magazines, and the Gen 3 PMAG that comes with it is the Magpul body Noveske specifies for the caliber.
Will a suppressor clear the handguard?
The handguard stops short of the muzzle, so the threads sit exposed and a can screws on without any clearance cut or a different rail. A long can will reach back alongside the handguard, which is worth measuring if you plan to run a hand stop out front.
