About This Firearm
The CMMG Banshee Mk4 SBR is a direct-impingement .300 Blackout short-barreled rifle built for home defense. It has an MSRP of $1,549.95. Its pistol-length gas system feeds through an adjustable gas block, so it can be dialed down for subsonic loads behind a suppressor.
The top rail is Picatinny with M-LOK between its sections and along the handguard's sides and bottom, so an optic and a light go on without an adapter. The B5 Systems Bravo stock rides a six-position extension. An 8 inch barrel holds the rifle to 24 inches and 5.2 lbs. The ZEROED linear compensator pushes blast forward and unscrews from 5/8x24 threads for a can.
If you're cross-shopping, the Q Honey Badger has an MSRP of $2,799, weighs 4.8 lbs with a 7 inch barrel and a 1:5 twist cut for heavy subsonic bullets. The Sig Sauer MCX Spear LT has an MSRP of $2,179, a 9 inch barrel and 6.4 lbs, and 27.75 inches of length for a longer sight radius. The CMMG undercuts both on MSRP and stands 3.75 inches shorter than the Sig.

Strengths & Limitations
- The upper is billet 6061 T6 aluminum and the lower is forged 7075 T6 in the AR pattern, so grips, triggers and stocks are standard parts.
- Cerakote is offered in Armor Black, Coyote Tan, FS Green, Midnight Bronze and Tungsten at one price.
- CMMG calls this the most condensed .300 Blackout SBR it builds today.
- One magazine comes in the box, so a second and a third are separate orders.
- A pistol-length gas system on a short barrel runs hot and dirty through long strings, and the adjustable block trims that without curing it.
- A linear compensator moves blast and noise forward, which helps the shooter and does nothing for the person standing beside you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it take standard AR-15 magazines?
Yes. It feeds from AR-pattern magazines, and the one in the box is a Magpul 30-round PMAG.
Can it shoot supersonic .300 Blackout as well as subsonic?
Yes, and the gas block setting decides how well each one runs. A setting that suits subsonic ammunition with a can on the muzzle is not the setting for supersonic loads at a bare muzzle, so expect to adjust it when you change what you feed it.
Which parts on it are AR parts?
The lower is a forged Mk4 AR-pattern receiver, so the grip, the trigger, the safety and the stock all come off the AR shelf. The handguard and the barrel are CMMG parts built around the short gas system.
