How to read it: filled circles are the near and far zero, where the bullet's path crosses the line of sight;the triangle is the peak (max ordinate). The shaded band is the 8" vital zone, ±4" either side of the line of sight. The dashed line marks the edge of the hold-dead-on window. The chart is zoomed to where the zero matters; the tables below run to 500 yards.

Product Overview
PMC's X-TAC 147-grain FMJBT is a boat-tail full metal jacket 7.62x51mm NATO load, which PMC sells to professionals and enthusiasts without naming a use. The nose is closed and the base tapered. It leaves the muzzle at 2,800 fps with 2,611 ft-lbs and has a G1 BC of .398.
Zeroed at 100 yards, it drops 13.8 inches at 300 and 31.4 inches at 400. From a 200-yard zero it drops 23.8 inches at 400.
If you're cross-shopping, PMC's own Bronze 147-grain FMJ BT is the same bullet 20 fps slower, and from a 100-yard zero it drops 31.9 inches at 400. Fiocchi's 150-grain FMJBT is three grains heavier at 2,810 fps and from that zero drops 31.1 inches at 400.
- The fastest of the 147-grain ball loads compared at the muzzle
- 89 ft-lbs more at the muzzle than PMC's own Bronze 147-grain FMJ BT
- Still moving at 1,956 fps at 400 yards
- About 3 percent more estimated recoil than Magtech's First Defense Tactical 147-grain
- A closed jacket with no exposed lead, so Hornady's American Whitetail 150-grain InterLock is the load for game at this weight
