Kent Cartridge is recalling 20 lots of 12- and 20-gauge shotshells across 10 product codes, the company said in a product warning and recall notice dated September 2026, because the shells may produce excessive chamber pressure when fired.
The notice says excessive chamber pressure may damage the firearm, render it inoperable and expose the shooter and bystanders to a risk of serious personal injury. Kent tells owners to stop using any matching ammunition immediately.
The recall covers five product lines: Ultimate Turkey, Fasteel+, Ultimate FastLead, Steel Dove and TealSteel. A box is affected only when its product code and its lot number both appear on the same row of Kent’s table. The company says every other code and lot combination is outside the recall.
| Product line | Product code | Affected lots |
|---|---|---|
| Ultimate Turkey | C123TK50-4 | IH215 |
| Ultimate Turkey | C123TK50-5 | IH216 |
| Ultimate Turkey | C203TK36-4 | IH219 |
| Ultimate Turkey | C203TK36-5 | IH218 |
| Fasteel+ | CC203FSP28-3X5 | IH137, IH475, IH594, IH707 |
| Ultimate FastLead | CC203UFL36-5 | IH527 |
| Ultimate FastLead | K123UFL50-5 | IH222, IH459 |
| Ultimate FastLead | K203UFL36-5 | IH561 |
| Steel Dove | K20SD24-6 | IH497, IH535 |
| TealSteel | KTS20328-6 | IH196, IH220, IH304, IH537, IH630, IH717 |
Both numbers are printed on the box label. Kent’s notice shows the two positions on a Steel Dove box: the product code sits at the left end of the load line, above the gauge and shell length, and the lot number is printed at the right beside the barcode. Kent says to check the product code first and to compare the lot number only when the code is listed.
Owners with a matching box are told to set it apart from other ammunition, not to sell, distribute or transfer it, and to contact Kent for return and replacement instructions. The company says it will arrange the return and provide replacement product or reimbursement, as applicable. Kent’s recall line is 844-951-6098 and the email address is support@kentcartridge.com.
The two-page notice, marked 09-2026, is the document posted on Kent’s recall page as of Oct. 26, 2026. It carries no count of boxes, no sale-date range and no closing date for returns.
