About This Firearm
When Sig Sauer released the P365 in 2018, fitting 10 rounds of 9mm into a 17.8 oz frame measuring 5.8" overall seemed impossible. The design forced every other manufacturer to redesign their micro-compacts, producing the Springfield Hellcat, Ruger MAX-9, and a dozen others trying to match or beat the capacity-to-size ratio. The P365 created the modern micro-compact category.
The gun ships with XRAY3 day/night sights on both front and rear, a feature most competitors either omit or charge extra for. The stainless steel slide with Nitron finish is durable, and the 5.5 lb striker-fired trigger is predictable. Two 10-round magazines come in the box. At 1.06" wide and 4.3" tall, it conceals under a t-shirt in an IWB holster without printing.
Competitors now match or beat the P365's 10-round capacity. The S&W Shield Plus holds 13 rounds. The Hellcat holds 13. The Ruger MAX-9 holds 12. But the P365's aftermarket ecosystem for grip modules, magazines, and trigger kits remains deeper than any other micro-compact, and the optional 12-round and 15-round extended magazines let owners scale capacity up when concealment requirements allow.

Strengths & Limitations
- XRAY3 day/night sights on front and rear are factory standard, while most competitors ship with basic white dots
- 17.8 oz is among the lightest in the micro-compact class, and the 5.8" overall length makes it one of the most concealable
- Deepest aftermarket ecosystem of any micro-compact: grip modules, trigger kits, holsters, and magazine options from dozens of manufacturers
- 10-round flush capacity has been surpassed by the S&W Shield Plus (13), Springfield Hellcat (13), and Ruger MAX-9 (12)
- Not optic-ready from the factory. Mounting a red dot requires either buying the P365X/XL or sending the slide out for milling

Frequently Asked Questions
Are current P365 pistols reliable after the 2018-2019 issues?
Current production P365s (2020 forward) use updated strikers and extractors that resolved the early failures. The gun has been on the market since 2018 with over a million units sold and documented round counts past 20,000 without major problems. Use factory Sig magazines and quality defensive ammunition like Federal HST 124gr or Speer Gold Dot 124gr.
What P365 magazines work in the base model?
All P365-family magazines are cross-compatible. The flush 10-round magazines ship with the gun. The 12-round magazine adds about 0.4" of grip length and is still concealable. The 15-round magazine adds significant length and works better as a backup or home defense magazine. Stick with factory Sig magazines. Aftermarket options from ProMag have mixed reliability reviews.
