About This Firearm
The Ruger Security-9 is a compact hammer-fired 9mm built for home defense and range use. It has an MSRP of $389. Inside the glass-filled nylon grip frame sits a precision-machined, hard-coat anodized aluminum chassis with full-length guide rails, so the slide runs on metal for its whole travel.
Two alloy steel magazines come in the box. The rear sight is dovetailed and drift adjustable, with replaceable sights sold separately, and the slide carries front cocking serrations under a black oxide finish. Safeties are an external manual lever and an integrated trigger safety. Takedown needs no tools and no trigger pull. The grip frame is fixed, with no backstraps or panels to change.
