About This Firearm
Fifteen rounds of .45 ACP in a factory magazine. That number is the FNX-45 Tactical's defining spec. Every other full-size .45 ACP on the market tops out at 10-13 rounds. The FNX-45 Tactical ships with 15+1 capacity, a threaded .578x28 barrel, suppressor-height night sights, and an optic mounting system. It is the only .45 ACP currently in production that comes suppressor-ready and optic-ready from the box.
The 5.3-inch threaded barrel and 8.6-inch overall length make this a large gun. At 33.3 oz unloaded and 1.58 inches wide, it is noticeably thicker than the Glock G21 Gen5 MOS (1.38 inches) and heavier than the S&W M&P 45 M2.0 (29.9 oz). The DA/SA trigger pulls 4.5 lbs in single action with an ambidextrous safety/decocker, giving left-handed shooters full controls access that the HK USP 45 lacks without a variant swap. The polymer frame with interchangeable backstraps keeps the weight manageable despite the larger dimensions.
Buy the FNX-45 Tactical if you want the highest-capacity .45 ACP pistol available with factory suppressor and optic support. Skip it if you need something concealable or light. At 33.3 oz and 1.58 inches wide, this is a nightstand and range gun, not a carry piece.

Strengths & Limitations
- 15+1 capacity is 5 rounds more than any other .45 ACP pistol in current production. The Glock G21 tops out at 13+1, and most others hold 10+1
- Ships suppressor-ready and optic-ready from the factory. No aftermarket barrel, sight, or slide work needed
- Ambidextrous safety/decocker and magazine release give left-handed shooters full controls without modification
- At 1.58 inches wide, it is the thickest .45 ACP handgun in this class. The double-stack 15-round magazine drives the grip width well past what's comfortable for concealed carry
- FNX-45 Tactical magazines are proprietary and not widely stocked at local dealers. Replacements require ordering direct or through specialty retailers

Frequently Asked Questions
What optics mount directly to the FNX-45 Tactical?
FN includes mounting plates for the Trijicon RMR, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, and Docter/Noblex footprints. The RMR is the most common pairing. The Holosun 507C also fits the RMR plate. Optics with the Shield RMSc footprint will not fit without an adapter.
Is the FNX-45 Tactical reliable with subsonic .45 ACP loads?
Standard 230-grain ball and hollow point loads at subsonic velocities run reliably. Most owners running suppressors report no issues with factory subsonic loads from Federal, Winchester, or Speer. Lightly loaded handloads below 750 fps may not cycle the slide consistently.
