About This Firearm
The FN 545 MRD is a full-size striker-fired .45 ACP built for duty use and home defense. It has an MSRP of $930, and each of its two magazines holds fifteen rounds. The slide is cut for a red dot and four mounting plates come in the case, so a sight goes on without a gunsmith.
The case also holds two interchangeable backstraps, a locking device and the manual, which covers most of what a buyer would otherwise order separately. This version has no manual safety, just a loaded chamber indicator, and FN sets the trigger at about 6 lb with the same pull on every shot. The grip stands 6 inches tall and measures 1.45 inches across to hold a double-stack .45, which is wide to conceal.
