Magtech's 147-grain FMJ Flat Subsonic is a flat-nosed full metal jacket 9mm load. Magtech calls its flat-nose bullets a heavy-for-caliber option and loads them mostly as subsonics. It leaves the muzzle at 990 fps with 320 ft-lbs.
Zeroed at 25 yards it is 1.8 inches low at 50, and still moving 944 fps. Estimated recoil in a compact pistol is 5.1 ft-lbs, the stiffest of them.
If you're cross-shopping, Speer Lawman 147-grain runs at much the same speed, 985 fps for 317 ft-lbs, and encloses its bullet base. PMC Bronze 147-grain is 15 fps slower, at 975 fps and 309 ft-lbs.
