Brass Case • FMJ
Solved from this product's advertised 955 fps, 95gr bullet and G1 BC 0.077, with the sight 0.5" over the bore at standard conditions. Compare every zero for .380 Auto.
How to read it: filled circles are the near and far zero, where the bullet's path crosses the line of sight;the triangle is the peak (max ordinate). The shaded band is the 4" vital zone, ±2" either side of the line of sight. The dashed line marks the edge of the hold-dead-on window. The chart is zoomed to where the zero matters; the tables below run to 100 yards.

Product Overview
Remington's UMC .380 is a 95-grain FMJ at 955 fps and 192 ft-lbs. Power factor is 91; the 125 USPSA minor floor is out of reach for any .380 and not the point of this load. It holds 860 fps and 156 ft-lbs at 50 yards, 786 fps and 130 ft-lbs at 100. Drop from a 25-yard zero is 2.2 inches at 50 yards and 15.6 at 100. A .380 gets used at 7 to 15 yards, so the drop column is for curiosity.
Its set is a tight cluster. Winchester Service Grade 95-grain, a flat-nose FMJ, matches it at 955 fps with the same recoil estimate and sits 2 ft-lbs behind at the muzzle. PPU 94-grain is 4 fps slower at 951 fps, 1 ft-lb behind, and about 3 percent softer in the same pistol. Aguila 95-grain is 10 fps slower with about 2 percent less recoil energy. Armscor 95-grain is the outlier at 920 fps, 35 fps and 13 ft-lbs behind the Remington, with about 6 percent less recoil. All five hit to the same hold at any distance a .380 is used.
Buy it as a general practice load for a small .380 when you want something in the middle of the pack that feels like Service Grade, PPU 94-grain or Aguila, or as a stand-in for a mid-velocity 95-grain carry load. If you carry Winchester PDX1 Defender 95-grain JHP, that round leaves 45 fps faster at 1,000 fps with 19 ft-lbs more at the muzzle and about 8 percent more recoil energy than the UMC in the same pistol. If you want the softest option for a new shooter, Armscor 95-grain at 920 fps is it.
- Highest muzzle energy in its set at 192 ft-lbs, ahead of Winchester Service Grade, PPU 94-grain, Aguila and Armscor
- Power factor of 91 ties Winchester Service Grade for the highest in its set, 3 over Armscor 95-grain at 87
- 2.2 inches low at 50 yards from a 25-yard zero, so a center hold works anywhere a pocket pistol is used
- Loses 62 ft-lbs between the muzzle and 100 yards, 192 down to 130, at a distance no .380 gets used at
- Identical to Winchester Service Grade 95-grain on velocity and recoil; only the nose shape differs
- Armscor 95-grain and PPU 94-grain are both softer picks for a long session in a light pistol
- Recoil velocity is the same as Service Grade and above Aguila, so it is not the load for the most recoil-shy shooter in the set
