Oregon Unit 47 covers 713,864 acres and lies 65 miles west of Baker City. 41% of it is public land, mostly national forest (33%) and BLM (7%). In 2025, 2,374 people hunted elk here and took 466, a 20% success rate (sum of published weapon rows). Its most applied-for hunt, 247R, put up 1,055 tags (all residencies) in the 2026 draw for 75 nonresident first-choice applicants, 37 of whom drew.
