Idaho Unit 76 covers 889,830 acres and lies 15 miles north of Montpelier and 44 miles north-east of Preston. 56% of it is public land, mostly national forest (43%) and BLM (7%). In 2025, 1,759 people hunted elk here and took 497, a 28% success rate (sum of published weapon rows). Its most applied-for hunt, 2107, put up 600 tags (all residencies) in the 2026 draw for 92 nonresident first-choice applicants, 60 of whom drew.
