Idaho Unit 22-1 covers 930,247 acres and lies 22 miles south-west of McCall and 41 miles north-east of Weiser. 72% of it is public land, mostly national forest (56%) and BLM (8%). In 2025, 664 people hunted elk here and took 184, a 28% success rate (sum of published weapon rows). Its most applied-for hunt, 2060, put up 200 tags (all residencies) in the 2026 draw for 31 nonresident first-choice applicants, 16 of whom drew.
