Colorado GMU 22 covers 632,172 acres and lies 23 miles south-west of Meeker and 36 miles north-west of Rifle. 73% of it is public land, mostly BLM (70%) and state land (3%). In 2024, 2,668 people hunted elk here and took 770, a 29% success rate. Its most applied-for hunt, EE021V1A, put up 1,150 tags (all residencies) in the 2026 draw for 499 first-choice applicants (one pool for residents and nonresidents).
