Colorado GMU 82 covers 697,042 acres and lies 29 miles north of Alamosa and 48 miles south-west of Cañon City. 64% of it is public land, mostly national park (20%) and national forest (19%). In 2024, 419 people hunted deer here and took 210, a 50% success rate. Its most applied-for hunt, DM082O2R, put up 170 tags (all residencies) in the 2026 draw for 54 nonresident first-choice applicants, 32 of whom drew.
