BANISH Suppressors of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, introduced the HD 762 INC on November 5, a 7.62 NATO/.308 Winchester suppressor made entirely from 718 Inconel, in a release.
A suppressor is the muzzle device that cuts a rifle’s noise and flash. Inconel is a metal that the maker’s product page for the sibling HD 556 INC describes as known for its exceptional strength and heat resistance. The can is made by additive manufacturing, a process that page describes as similar to 3D printing.
The HD 762 INC has an MSRP of $1,129, the same as the HD 556 INC, the 5.56 NATO can it builds on. It is the second suppressor in BANISH’s Heavy Duty line, which is reserved for hard use and heavy fire rates. The HD 556 INC pairs an Inconel core with a stainless-steel blast chamber, measures 6.3 inches long and weighs 15.6 ounces. The 762 is all Inconel, longer and 0.3 ounce heavier.
Inside, nine baffles and eight helical vents route expanding gas along a controlled path. That keeps back pressure low on gas-operated rifles, the kind that cycle by bleeding off barrel gas.
“Gas guns are hard on a suppressor, and too much back pressure makes them hard on the shooter, too,” said Kelly Streiff, BANISH’s chief revenue officer.
The suppressor is engineered for AR-10s and 6mm AR-15s. It is full-auto rated, has no barrel-length restrictions and handles cartridges from 5.56 NATO up to .300 RUM, including 6.5 Creedmoor. In internal testing it averaged 135.7 decibels at the shooter’s ear with supersonic .308 Winchester through a 16-inch AR-10. With subsonic .300 Blackout through a 16-inch AR, the average was 126.2 dB.
| Spec | HD 762 INC |
|---|---|
| Length | 6.7 in |
| Diameter | 1.65 in |
| Weight (no mount) | 15.9 oz |
| Space to first baffle | 1.9 in |
| Direct-thread mount | 5/8x24 |
| Sound, supersonic .308 Winchester, 16-inch AR-10 | 135.7 dB |
| Sound, subsonic .300 Blackout, 16-inch AR | 126.2 dB |
Each unit ships with a 5/8x24 direct-thread mount. It also uses industry-standard HUB threads, which fit the major quick-detach mounting systems. The 1.9 inches of space ahead of the first baffle leaves room for full-length muzzle brakes and flash hiders.
The HD 762 INC comes in Black and Flat Dark Earth Cerakote, is made in the United States, and carries the BANISH lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects and damage from normal use. Owners can also get a maintenance check through the BANISH Service Program within a year of ownership.
It is available now through BANISH Suppressors dealers.
