The Arizona Game and Fish Department will sell 2,655 over-the-counter nonpermit tags for nonresident archery deer hunters for the 2027 calendar year, starting at 8 a.m. Arizona time on Monday, Nov. 2, the department said in a release.
Nonresidents can buy the tags only online, first-come, first-served. Holders of a Pioneer, Lifetime or Benefactor license must use an AZGFD office or mail in the big game tag order form. A nonresident with a Disabled Veteran license is excused from the 10% cap but follows the same office-or-mail route.
Buyers need a Customer ID number and a date of birth. Anyone without an ID can create a free AZGFD portal account.
Residents can buy the tag at any third-party license dealer or department office statewide. Their numbers are not capped, though they must still check harvest limit and season status.
Harvest limits apply to every over-the-counter archery deer hunt in Arizona, so all hunters should check harvest limit and season status before hunting. Every hunter must file a harvest report online within 48 hours of taking a deer, and the department asks them to fill out the hunter questionnaire on that page. No physical inspection is needed. Season dates and bag limits are in the current Arizona Hunting Regulations.
AZGFD receives no general fund tax dollars. Most of the money to manage more than 800 native wildlife species comes from Arizona’s hunters and anglers.
Nonresident sales open at 8 a.m. Arizona time on Monday, Nov. 2, 2026.
