Oregon Unit 49 covers 559,148 acres and lies 26 miles south of Pendleton and 45 miles south-east of Hermiston. 35% of it is public land, mostly national forest (32%) and state land (3%). A further 10% is tribal land rather than public land. In 2025, 1,231 people hunted deer here and took 267, a 22% success rate (sum of published hunt rows). Its most applied-for hunt, 649B, put up 88 tags (all residencies) in the 2025 draw for 54 nonresident first-choice applicants, and the last tag went to someone with 12 points.
