Oregon Unit 28 covers 847,666 acres and lies 19 miles south-east of Grants Pass. 59% of it is public land, mostly national forest (30%) and BLM (27%). In 2025, 4,255 people hunted deer here and took 1,746, a 41% success rate (sum of published hunt rows). Its most applied-for hunt, 128M, put up 330 tags (all residencies) in the 2026 draw for 161 nonresident first-choice applicants, 11 of whom drew, and the last tag went to someone with 14 points.
