What the agency says about the area
The state is divided into three elk management units. No elk hunting is currently allowed in Unit 1. Unit 2 includes parts of Clay, Dickinson, Riley and Geary counties. Unit 2A is the Fort Riley reservation. Unit 3 is the remaining part of the state.
