The .410 has the lightest recoil of the common shotgun bores and suits snakes, pests, small game and new shooters, though its small shot charge makes hitting flying birds harder. The Mossberg 500 is a standard field pump with a long barrel. The Henry Axe is a short, stockless lever gun meant for close-range pest control around the farm or camp.
