The rest of the Alpha is the entry point of CZ's completely redesigned 600-series bolt action, built around an aluminum receiver with a cold hammer forged 22-inch barrel and a 60-degree bolt throw. Note that in 2022 CZ issued a voluntary safety recall on the 600 series because the user-replaceable barrel system could allow a barrel to be fired with insufficient torque, risking catastrophic failure — CZ corrected the issue by permanently installing barrels in current production, so on any new rifle from a dealer the recall is already addressed.

At $749 MSRP and a street price often below that, the Alpha is aimed squarely at shooters stepping up from an entry bolt gun who want more trigger quality and modern ergonomics without paying for chassis-rifle features they won't use. The push-feed action (not controlled-round-feed like the older CZ 550) is typical for modern bolt guns at this price. The Picatinny rail is integrated, and the threaded 5/8x24 muzzle is ready for a brake or suppressor. Buy this if you want a modern bolt gun with a quality adjustable trigger and a no-frills polymer-stocked hunting setup. Skip it if you need higher capacity than 4 rounds, want a stainless or Cerakoted barrel for wet-weather hunting, or are considering it as a competition platform — the 600 Range (heavy barrel) or a step up to the B-14 HMR tier makes more sense for precision work.
